This colorful lithograph was issued as a premium for those who subscribed to the publication the Star Spangled Banner. This publication was an eight page family paper which was founded in 1863 and was at one time the largest publication in New England, not including Boston, with 30,000 copies monthly. An advertisement by Hunter & Company stated it cost $1,000 to make this print.
