General Nathanael Greene (1742-1786) was an American military officer during the Revolutionary War.  He is considered as one of the most talented American generals due to his successful campaigns in the South. 

This print originally appeared in the New-York Magazine in 1794 and the original copper plate was used again ten years later for this publication.
