This etching represents a view in times past from Leverington Avenue and Canton Street facing the Schuylkill River/Canal. The road below is Main Street. The train bridge has been renovated and now sports a mural on the side walls underneath. The house/store front structure on the corner no longer stands. The building beyond, which once served as a planing mill and lumber yard, has remained nearly unchanged; today it is the Watermill Lofts & Condos. The stack is likely from the Sciota Mills that used to stand on the other side of the canal. In the distance, the steep topography of Belmont Hills on the other side of the Schuylkill River can be seen.
