R.K. Sneden. "View of Brewsters' [sic] Putnam Co. N.Y." New York: The Heliographic Engraving Co., 1867.  9 1/2 x 15 3/4. Halftone.  Very good condition. Scarce.

This handsome view after an ink drawing by Robert Knox Sneden shows the town now called Brewster, in Putnam County, New York in the mid nineteenth century. Three smaller views are printed on the verso, also after drawings by Sneden: "Property of F. Halstead, Bedford Station, N.Y." "The Halstead Homestead at Bedford, N.Y." and "Inland Vale residence of J.S. Libby, Westchester Co. N.Y."

The Heliographic Engraving Company, a short-lived firm in New York founded by Frederick W. von Egloffstein, produced this early halftone engraving.  Egloffstein was in the business for two years, then the firm went bankrupt in 1868.
