Adrian Ludwig Richter was a German painter, printmaker, and illustrator.  He is well known as one of the most important artist’s of late Romantic painting and printmaking period in Germany. Richter was one of the most beloved artists in Germany for most of the 19th century. He engraved many landscapes and scenes that were made into illustrations for popular books and children's books.
