Tomaso Porcacchi da Castiglione (ca. 1530-1585) is best known for his atlas depicting the islands of the world titled L'Isole. Many editions were published containing seventeen to thirty maps of islands and two of the world. Most showed Mediterranean islands where the Venetian Navy predominated.
