Robert Nisbet. "Waugh's House Provincetown."
Etching. Signed in pencil and numbered 10/100. 8 x 9 3/4 (image). Faint mat burn.
Nisbet (1879-1961) resided in Providence, Rhode Island and South Kent, Connecticut at various times. Exhibited widely and mostly in the northeastern states, but also in California. He was a prolific painter and print maker; however his prints here seem tentative and experimental be they ever so lovely. He was prominent in the National Academy of Design as well as many artists' societies in the 1920s. He taught at the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University.
