Joseph Nash. "Angle of the Corridor." From Interior Views of Windsor Castle.
London: Thomas M'Lean, 1848. Deluxe edition. Images approximately 13 x 18 1/2. Rich chromolithographs with hand highlights. Some light foxing on backing boards, but images are bright and generally unaffected. Overall, very good condition.
For this series, showing interior views of the Royal Castle at Windsor, Nash used the new printing medium of chromolithography. This technique, allowing for greater nuance and value gradation than pure lithography, was an ideal means of expression for Nash's historically rich and picturesque depictions of Windsor Castle.
