Christine McGinnis LaPelle (1937-2019), award winning artist and printmaker was born and raised in Philadelphia; she was awarded a four year scholarship to the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. McGinnis was the wife of fellow artist and printmaker, Rodger LaPelle. Together for over 60 years, they promoted new and upcoming artists in the Philadelphia community. They lived in the Germantown section of Philadelphia (at Awbury Arboretum) for over 50 years where Christine painted in her studio. Her works are held in collections at the Boston Public Library, Civic Center Museum (Philadelphia), Norfolk Art Museum, PAFA, Lessing J. Rosenwald Collection and Woodmere Art Museum, Chestnut Hill PA.
