Charles Francois Jalabert (1819-1901) was a well know French portrait painter. Jalabert painted this portrait of Martha Washington in 1855 after the portrait of Martha Washington by Gilbert Stuart. The engraver of this print, Edouard Girardet, engraved the large and well known print of Washington Crossing the Delaware.
