H.W.B. Davis, R.A. (1833-1914) was a British landscape and animal painter, noted for pastoral scenes with farm animals. This handsome image captures the strength and spirit of the working horses pulling the plow in the foreground, as well as the folic of the colts at right, who will be put to work as soon as they are fully grown and able.
