Philadelphia, George Barrie, ca. 1880. 5 ½ x 10 7/8 (image). Engraving by G.C. Finden. Wide margins. Very good condition.
Miles Standish was the military captain of the Pilgrim colony. This large print depicts Standish and eight armed Pilgrims, being led by a Native American, down a path away from the ocean where the Mayflower lay anchored. The image evokes Longfellow's, "The Courtship of Miles Standish."
