This finely engraved colonial map covers much of Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware, along with portions of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The interior is richly detailed, with mountains carefully engraved and an extensive network of rivers. An early system of trails and wagon roads connects communities along the seaboard and extends westward as far as Frederic Town ou Winchester, with one road continuing farther to the southwest. Fort Cumberland, Bukingham, and numerous frontier villages are also identified. A delicate Rococo-style title cartouche completes the composition.
