Frederick Goodrich Robbins (1893-1974) was a prolific painter, etcher, lecturer, teacher and writer. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, he is associated with the Los Angeles schools of art due to being educated at Berkeley and residing in southern California. He worked internationally and throughout the United States. The listing in Karen Beall’s American Prints in the Library of Congress includes a surprising number of scenes of Philadelphia done from the mid-1920s and through the 1930s.
