Lithograph. 13 x 10 ¼. With fold as originally issued. Scattered light foxing. Very good condition. Scarce.
The first map of the United States printed with lithography. This map is from the account of the travels from 1816 to 1819 of Edouard de Montulé, who visited Egypt, Italy, and North America, where he traveled up the Mississippi to the Ohio and then to New York and Philadelphia. Montulé was a keen observer and his drawings are especially interesting for their accurate and precise detail.
