“Johnson’s United States.”
New York: A. J. Johnson, ca. 1869. 17 x 23. Lithograph. Original hand color. With decorative border. Very good condition.
Nevada is shown in its present form after Arizona ceded the western portion to the state in 1867. Wyoming is shown, which was created as a Territory in 1868, but shows the old western border when Wyoming was part of the Dakotas. Both Idaho and Utah still have not ceded their eastern lands to Wyoming to form its present day borders. Also shown are the Dakota and Indian Territories.
