Unattributed.  “Pennsylvania.”  From Thomas F. Gordon’s A Gazetteer of the State of Pennsylvania

Philadelphia: T. Belknap, 1832.  12 3/4 x 17 (neatlines).  Engraving on thin bank note paper.  Original hand color.  With coal fields circled with hand color.  With folds as issued.  Hair margin at right.  Minor stain in bottom margin with small portion of margin filled.  Map has been removed from the book.  Else, very good condition.

An attractive and fascinating map of Pennsylvania from A Gazetteer of the State of Pennsylvania.  At the bottom of the map is a key to symbols representing existing canals, proposed canals, railroads, turnpike roads, and common roads.  This book contains detailed information about counties, cities, townships, towns, mountains, lakes, rivers, creeks, canals, railroads, and post offices.  This octavo book, with full leather binding and gold tooling on spine, is clean and in very good condition.  There are hints of hints of ex libris status. All in all, a lovely and informative map and book of the state.
