Boston: L. Prang, 1878.  8 x 9 ¾ (image).  Chromolithograph.  Signed in image by the artist.  Registration marks in margins.  With original label.  Very good condition.

Prang was the greatest of American chromolithographic publishers and much of his success was based on his introduction of the first commercial holiday cards to the United States.  Louis Prang was the most successful American publisher of chromolithographs and he based his success upon issuing a wide variety of finely crafted colored prints that appealed to many different sections of the American public.   This image was printed from multiple lithographic stones.  Note the register marks in the margins to help align the multiple stones.
