A handsome etching made in 1903 by Thomas Johnson of President George Washington after Gilbert Stuart’s Athenæum portrait.   Gilbert Stuart's unfinished 1796 painting of George Washington is also known as The Athenæum portrait, possibly Stuart's most famous work.
