H[enry] McD[anolds] Rundle (1896-1960).  “Franklin Delano Roosevelt.  Thirty First President of the United States.  We have Nothing to Fear but Fear Itself…” 

New York: The Old Print Shop, 1933.  11 1/2 x 9 1/8 (image).  Offset lithograph printed in color, 1933.  Signed artist’s proof.  Signed in pencil by the artist in the bottom left margin.  Light staining in margins and an errant pencil line in bottom margin.  Else, fine condition. 

This portrait of Franklin Delano Roosevelt was published by The Old Print Shop in 1933 and done in the manner of the Currier & Ives presidential portraits from the 19th century.  Roosevelt was a collector of maritime prints and was a customer of the Old Print Shop. 

Henry Rundle was an independent commercial artist who was also an artist and advertising manager for General Electric and was also the first Art Director for RCA Records where he over saw the creation of album cover art for the company.
