Philadelphia: S. Augustus Mitchell, Jr., 1881. 14 1/2 x 22. Lithograph. Original hand color. With decorative grape vine border. Very good condition.
A detailed map of Central and West Philadelphia, as well as Camden, from 1881. The map was issued by native mapmaker, S. Augustus Mitchell, Jr. The map shows an impressive amount of detail, with roads named, major buildings indicated, parts, cemeteries drawn, and the burgeoning city rail network clearly shown, not to mention the ferry lines linking the two cities.
