Edward Sachse. "Parole Camp Annapolis, MD."

Baltimore: E. Sachse & Co., 1864. 8 3/4 x 16 1/2 (neat lines plus narrow margins top and sides). Chromolithograph. Narrow margins top and sides, but bottom text is present. Bright image. Some old tape on back sides.

A fine and scarce bird's eye view of this camp which we have not seen previously. This view is more pleasant than some because it shows a spirited parade and many people strolling throughout the camp. Even women are present, and a train proceeds in the foreground having left a station with civilians on the platform. In this instance the view maker is showing home areas that were designed to help soldiers of the Union armies. A lovely piece of history.
