Everts, Philadelphia.  Original hand color.  In original brown buckram cover.  Archivally repaired 1 ½” tear at left, not affecting image; two pinholes archivally repaired at intersections of folds.  Faint browning along some folds.  Else very good condition. A/A

A rare folding map of Western and Central Washington near the end of the 19th century in near excellent condition, from the firm of Oliver Phelps Anderson, which flourished in Seattle from approximately 1890 to 1900, before shifting focus to photographic supplies and equipment.

The map provides an exceptional look at the region extending from the Straits of Juan de Fuca to Willapa Harbor in the west and the Slate Creek Mining District in the northwest to the Yakima Indian Reservation in the southeast.

The map provides exceptional topographical detail, focusing in fine detail on the mining regions in the eastern part of the map.

Covers all or parts of Whatcom, Okanogan, San Juan, Skagit, Clallam, Island, Snohomish, Jefferson, Kitsap, King, Kittitas, Douglas, Chehalis, Mason, Thurston, Pierce, Pacific, Lewis, and Yakima counties.

Shows townships, sections, railroads, settlements, Indian reservations, drainage, mining districts, glaciers, etc.
