Cerinda W. Evans.  Collis Potter Huntington.

Newport News, 1954. Cloth. Two volumes. First edition. Out of print.

Standard biography of American railroad magnate Collis P. Huntington (1821-1900), whose promotion of the Central Pacific Railroad's extension across the West made possible the first transcontinental railroad in 1869. A member of the Big Four, the California railroad monopoly that included Mark Hopkins, Leland Stanford and Charles Crocker, Huntington built the Southern Pacific Railroad into a 9,600-mile line that was the foundation of rail service in California and the western link for a southern transcontinental route.
