A magnificent chromolithograph celebrating the Prussian victory over the Austrian Army at Koniggratz during the Austo-Prussian War of 1866. In the central scene, Prussia’s King Wilhelm I pursues the retreating Austrians while accepting the cheers of his victorious soldiers and cavalry. Also shown are the turning points in the battle and at lower right the cavalry battle during the Austrians’ panicked flight to the town of Königgrätz.
