Louis Orr (1879-1966), whose grandfather, father and uncle were wood engravers and printers, was born in Hartford, CT, but he spent many years working and studying in Europe. His output consisted primarily of etched views of European and American subjects, which are noted for their precise yet evocative images. This series consisted of a total of 14 etchings of the major ports of the United States.
