Born in Padua and educated in Bologna, Giovanni Antonio Magini (1555-1617) was a mathematician, cartographer and astronomer. In 1596 in Cologne he published a Latin translation of Ptolemy's Geographia. This page is from the first edition of Magini's work in Italian, translated by Leonardo Cernotti and published in Venice by the Galignani Brothers.
