A large and early view of Bucknell University.  Peter S. Duval was one of the most prominent and long lived of Philadelphia lithographers.  In the early years he was associated with William W. Huddy working as Huddy & Duval.  Nicholas B. Wainwright wrote, “Duval . . . was anxious to bring art to the masses.  In fact, he attempted to lithograph everything that conceivably could be drawn on stone, and some of the uses to which he put his trade were imaginative to say the least.  Imagination, technical ability, and business acumen maintained him at the top of Philadelphia’s lithographic industry.”  See: Philadelphia in the Romantic Age of Lithography, pp. 42-45.
