Boston: Edwin J. Schruers, 1935.  Third printing by the Merrymount Press.  32 ¾ x24 (image).  Off-set color lithograph.  Mounted to old backing board.  A number of hard to see scattered wrinkles throughout image most likely due when print was laid down on to a backing board.  Print is usually found mounted.  Else, very good condition.  Not examined out of the frame.  Sold as is.  A/A

A large, attractive and decorative bird’s eye view of Harvard University that was issued to celebrate the 300th anniversary of college’s founding.  Major college buildings are shown: the University Museum, Memorial Church, the Yard, Harvard Business School, Harvard Law School, and the Stadium.  The coats of arms for the seven upperclassmen houses are depicted in the upper right hand corner of the image which are Lowell, Dunster, Winthrop, Eliot, Kirkland, Adams and Leverett.  

The artist, Edwin J. Schruers, was an American architect and a professor at Harvard.  He served in the Navy during World War II and moved to Berkeley, California where he had his own architectural firm.
