Feliks Topolski, a Polish artist who moved to England in 1935, created a series of four prints for Penguin Books that were first issued in 1940.  This print of Churchill is the first print of the series.  Topolski was an official war artist for the British government and he painted many battles scenes during the war.  His work was greatly admired by George Bernard Shaw and Topolski provided illustrations to two of his plays.
