The New Sporting Magazine. Volume XV. 

London: Walter Spiers, 1838.  Bound in 1/2 brown calf and marbled boards, spines gilt, extremities and joints often rubbed, slight wear to boards.  

Published from 1792 to 1870, this most famous of sporting periodicals featured letters and articles on and illustrations of most of the branches of sport throughout the world.  British horse racing and field sports were, however, the dominant subjects of its plates and pages.  This run of the New Series offers a detailed and vivid record of these activities.
