8 ½ x 11 ¾ (image). 1884.  Etching.  State II.  Signed in Pencil by the artist and in the plate.  Matburn in margins not affecting image.  Two repaired tears in bottom left corner one into image.  Good condition.  SP 104.

Stephen Parrish (1846-1938) was born in Philadelphia.  He was a painter, but is known for his etchings.  A member of the Royal Society of Painters and Etchers, he exhibited his works in London, New York and Paris.  Stephen’s son Maxfield studied under his father and became a well known illustrator in his own right.
