George Frederick Scotson-Clark was a poster designer and illustrator, son of noted musician and composer, Reverend Frederick Scotson-Clark. George Scotson-Clark grew up in Brighton, UK, where he was a classmate of Aubrey Beardsley.  He worked in the US in the 1890s as a stage and costume designer, theatrical and book poster designer, art editor of Century magazine, and poster designer for The Outing.
