A nice example of the type of popular historical prints issued by Nathaniel Currier.  Washington is shown entering Trenton by crossing the bridge over the Delaware River.  The bridge is festooned with banners and flags, and the women and girls of the city, garlanded with blossoms, throw flowers in Washington's path.  This episode happened during Washington's triumphal progress from Virginia to New York City, where he was to be inaugurated as the first president.
