Publisher unknown: Washington, D.C., 1873.  12 ½ x 25 (image).  Litho-tint by Armstrong & Co., Boston.  Minor spotting in image with three faint vertical wood slat stains.  Faint diagonal water stain upper right portion of image.  Print has been professionally conserved.  Else, good condition. 

Miles Standish was the military captain of the Pilgrim colony.  This large print depicts Standish and eight armed Pilgrims, being led by a Native American, down a path away from the ocean where the Mayflower lay anchored. Two stanzas from Longfellow's, "The Courtship of Miles Standish" appear beneath the image on each side of the title.  Harry Peters' book, America on Stone, praises this print as one of the better prints produced by the Armstrong Company.
