This book by the great American geographer and cartographer provides a text to accompany Melish's map of the world on the Mercator projection. The frontispiece world map is one a complementary oval project for useful contrast. Samuel Harrison updated his 1816 map to this new version dated 1818. The other two maps are of the Isthmus and Darien and the Isthmus of Suez. The last four pages provide a catalog of Melish's published geographical works. An interesting and scarce work.
