A print from a series of seashells by the respected conchologist, William Wood. Natural History prints were very popular throughout the Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. Not only did they illustrate new found scientific knowledge, they did so in a decorative way. Artfully arranged, and brightly colored, these prints are a perfect example of that combination of science and art.
