M[innie] Walter Anson. “Catta. Trianae Alba.” [orchid].

Minnie Walters Anson (1875–1959) was a painter and illustrator of miniatures, portraits and botanical specimens and studied at Lambeth School of Art, where she won several medals for her work. Information for this watercolor was on the verso of the original acidic backing board which was not able to be preserved during the conservation process. This exquisite watercolor accurately shows the structure and color of this particular specimen. An absolutely lovely work of art.
